INCA

This incredible journey all began with a hardworking and tough man named Willem Abraham Grové, known fondly as the "Sapa Inca." He and his son, Louis Andries Grové, were just ordinary farmers from Rouxville. But they started their adventure during some of South Africa's roughest economic times. In a time when money was scarce, and the sun seemed to have dried up everything, Louis had a wild idea: open a restaurant in Aliwal North. But there was one big question – what should they name it? The wise Sapa Inca had the answer: "INCA." With humble beginnings and not enough cash for a fancy sign, INCA became a place where folks could grab a bite and feel at home. Louis, the new Sapa Inca, had two sons, Willie and Louis Jr., who were already hardworking men, helping their dad in the restaurant from their school years. Now, here's where it gets even more exciting. The INCA clothing brand was primarily envisioned by Willie, but it remained a cherished concept and a source of pride for the entire Grové family. It didn't just pop out of thin air. It was born from the heart of South Africa's retail scene. You see, there was this old store in Bloemfontein called Awerbuchs, dating back to 1901. It had its own story – owned by another family before the Grové family took over and gave it new life. INCA clothing isn't just a brand; it's a celebration of South Africa's hardworking and resilient spirit. With deep roots in our local communities, INCA's got our backs. And you can bet it will keep doing so for the next hundred years – a brand for South Africa's hardworking, adventure-loving men and women, born from the passion of the Grové family, especially Willie, who dreamed it into existence.
